CLEAR-EO at Agrotica 2026: Advancing Climate Intelligence for Agriculture

CLEAR-EO partner NEUROPUBLIC participated in the 31st International Exhibition of Agricultural Machinery, Equipment and Supplies – Agrotica 2026, held in Thessaloniki, Greece, from 12 to 15 March 2026. The event provided a valuable opportunity to engage directly with key stakeholders in the agricultural sector and to support the development of CLEAR-EO’s agriculture application.
Supporting Climate-Resilient Agriculture through Earth Observation
Within CLEAR-EO, NEUROPUBLIC leads work on an application adressing Climate adaptation in agriculture. This application focuses on the development of an on-demand, field-level early warning service addressing climate-related risks such as drought, heavy precipitation, and soil moisture anomalies.
The application integrates:
- Satellite Earth observation data
- Meteorological and climate information
- In-situ measurements from NEUROPUBLIC’s gaiasense IoT infrastructure
These data streams are combined to generate timely, crop-specific information services, enabling farmers and agronomists to make informed decisions and improve resilience to climate variability.
User Engagement and Co-Design
Agrotica 2026 brought together a wide range of stakeholders, including farmers, agronomists, agricultural cooperatives, and representatives from the agri-food industry. These groups represent the primary users of the CLEAR-EO agriculture application.
During the exhibition, NEUROPUBLIC engaged with these stakeholders to:
- Gather feedback on user needs and operational challenges
- Validate service concepts and functionalities
- Identify opportunities for further collaboration and uptake
This interaction supports the co-design approach of CLEAR-EO, ensuring that the application is aligned with real-world requirements and user expectations.
From Earth Observation to Field-Level Services
The activities at Agrotica illustrate the CLEAR-EO approach of connecting:
- Global Earth observation and climate data infrastructures
- Regional agricultural ecosystems
- Local, field-level decision-making
By transforming complex environmental data into accessible and actionable information, CLEAR-EO contributes to the development of operational services that support sustainable and climate-resilient agriculture.
The engagement at Agrotica 2026 represents an important step in strengthening the user community around the application Climate adaptation in agriculture and advancing its deployment within pilot regions.
CLEAR-EO will continue to build on these interactions to refine the application, enhance user uptake, and demonstrate the value of integrated Earth observation and in-situ data for agriculture across Europe.
